Meet Julie & Yue—

We're active daters turned dating insiders on a mission to understand modern dating and why we date the way we do. After talking to thousands of daters and world- renowned experts, we're here to help create the love life you've always wanted.

We never set out to be dating experts. But there's a reason why you gravitate towards helping people: you've struggled with the same things yourself.

We understand how stressful and confusing dating can be while you’re in the thick of it. We get how lonely it can feel when all your friends are partnered up and you’re the remaining single person in the group. And we certainly know the feeling of just wanting to meet your person already, dammit! Because we've been here ourselves.

Through Dateable, we've discovered there IS a better way – one where dating is filled with more joy, fulfillment, extraordinary connections, and love.

Our story —

We met in 2015 and became fast-friends, bonding over modern dating, as we were both recently single and perplexed by all the changes in the dating scene. Julie had just broken up with the person she thought was ‘The One’ after many years filled with casual situationships, unrequited love, and endless first dates. Yue had recently moved to San Francisco, newly single, ready to use her years of knowledge as a dating coach – only to realize the the rules and dating tactics she had preached for years were becoming obsolete. With traditional gender roles out the window, apps replacing IRL convos, and non-monogamy becoming more mainstream, it was a whole new dating world. One that we were unsure of how to navigate.

One fateful night, over a few too many cocktails, we had a brilliant idea: why don’t we start a podcast to document all of the trials and tribulations of modern dating so we could get to the root of why we date the way we do?  Fast forward almost a decade later, and we transformed from active daters to bonafide experts, featured in the New York Times, CNN, and places we never imagined seeing our faces. We’ve interviewed thousands of daters and world-renowned experts to give you the most robust understanding of modern dating on the internet.

We know how challenging dating can be. But through our almost-decade of doing Dateable, we've both completely changed the way we date and do relationships. Our mission is to help you rise above the challenges, date your way, and DIY the type of relationship that's right for you.
